Meet The Gloomers

Hi, we’re The Gloomers family. Every week we have a family cartoon webisode. Sometimes we also show up on the Gloomers website, unannounced.

Our webisodes show The Gloomers are we really are, and if you happen to laugh at us, that’s fine. Some people tell us we remind them of the way cartoons used to be in the Hanna Barbara days, the Looneytunes days. People say our cartoon webisodes have heart and soul, just like then. Cool.

Most people laugh at us, not with us. We hope that you will grow to like or even love us.

We live in Seattle, where it always rains. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. It always rains. And now, let us tell you a bit about our family:

Dooman: I’m the dad in The Gloomers. For some reason, it almost always rains no matter wherever I go., even when it is sunny outside, some black could always follows me. I am short, and somewhat rotund around the middle. If I do screw things up all of the time, it’s not my fault. It appears to be a genetic trait, a long-standing Gloomers family gene. In fact I remember my Grandfather said he was cursed. I work at an insurance company and prepare actuarial tables. I tried Rogaine to cure my baldness, but it did not work, instead it grew hair on my toes. My son Junior still lives at home in the basement even though he is 23. It makes me so mad. He needs to get a job.

Lotta: I’m the Mother of The Gloomers: I’m smart, tough, and all about fashion. Don’t mess with me. I am a Fashionista. Dooman and I have, shall we say, a curious relationship. It needs work, suffice it to say. And if he tells you he never screws up, don’t believe it! The best part of my day is when I leave our crazy home and go to work. I love the kids and everything, but, whenever I get home, I get pulled into that crazy vortex of gloom. Something always goes wrong! Oh, by the way, my son Junior says he has his own apartment, but actually he lives in our basement. Kind of a dungeon, but he likes it down there except when it floods. He has a pet spider, Cunape. God knows what else lives down there.

Dooman Gloomer Junior: I’m 23 years old and live in a killer basement apartment crib. Okay I am videogame addict, in particular I love Everquest. I designed and built a killer electronic helmet made of every electronic device from Bluetooth to Ipod. I live inside this amazing electronics world. It helps me to tune out the gloom and craziness of my family, some people think it makes me look like a Borg from Star Trek, but I think it’s a chick magnet..although I’ve never had a girlfriend. The best thing in my life is my pet spider Cunape. My mom and dad drive me crazy! I need a vacation from them.

Notta Gloomer: I love the stars and I love the light. It’s always sunny wherever I go even when my family is gloomy and going down the tubes, which is most of the time. I love music, and pets and fashion, like my Mom. Moses is my pet parrot, I got him when I was six from the Animal Shelter.. I want to save the world, save all of the animals that are supposedly going extinct. That is so sad. I love nature, and especially love the ocean. I can swim for days and days…. One time my aunt said she saw a halo over my head like an angel. I don’t know what she meant, but it sounded cool. I actually hope I do have a guardian angel.

Moses Gloomer: I am the family parrot. I have been to the mountain. I have seen great things. I have had considerable wisdom bestowed upon me about the human condition. Greatness has been thrust upon me, and with that I carry great responsibility.. My IQ is terribly high, I am not just smart, I am wise, there is a difference which I will teach you. I give The Gloomers family advice to keep them from slipping into the gloom vortex. Not an easy task when it comes to the Gloomers family. They are the very definition of dysfunctional. Notta adopted me at the animal shelter where I had a near death experience. I am forever in her debt.

Other characters:

Cuñape: Cuñape is Junior’s pet spider. Gorgeous female spider with long lashes and a swagger.

Grumpy Frankle MD: Grumpy Frankle MD is the Gloomers family doctor

Welcome To The Gloomers

Dear Gloomers extended family:

The Gloomers are coming, The Gloomers are coming...The Gloomers are here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we are excited. Why else would we add so many exclamation points on this subject line!!

After nearly 142 years of preparation and work, 16 different wars, numerous Presidents and Michael Jackson surgeries, TheGloomers.com launches today in public beta. Wow.

We think you will find The Gloomers to be a truly a special place. It is home to a new animated cartoon family: The Gloomers. We will have weekly cartoon "webisodes". These will hopefully graduate one day into being a TV show on traditional television. Meanwhile, we believe The Gloomers will have broad appeal and live quite comfortably on the internet. The Gloomers is also a social network where you can vent and "get your gloom out" about your girlfriend, taxes, French people, or whatever you want. You get your own animated "Gloom Room" where you gloom/vent with your friends in fun environment. Misery loves company, right? Finally, you can watch some very funny comedians on our Gloomer TV, and rate/comment on any content on the website.

If you think about it, there is no other site quite like TheGloomers.com on the web. Yes, that is quite a statement, quite a claim. But few sites have the blend of experience and interactivity that you will find on TheGloomers.com. You be the judge and check it out. Please invite your friends and enemies. :))

Oh and about the weather for today: Expect Gloom. Extended Forecast: More Gloom.

Cheers.
